What is a Veteran?
A “Veteran” – whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve – is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank cheque made payable to “Canada” for an amount of up to and including their life”.
Annapolis Valley Home Care has been proudly offering home care and support services to our Veterans since services began in 2005. We are committed to providing assistance that will allow these brave men and women to live a high quality of life while remaining safely in their own homes.
Whether it is providing light housekeeping duties or 24-hour care, Annapolis Valley Home Care focuses on quality of life activities and will, if possible, provide assistance to the Veteran to attend special events at local legions or even placing CAREgivers at these events to provide service to any who may require it. Our Veterans have given their time, their health, and in some cases, sacrificed family relationships or even their own lives to provide us with the opportunity to live a life filled with opportunities. Providing services that will allow them to enjoy the liberties they fought so hard to win reflects only part of the deep appreciation we feel for what they have done for our country.
The sacrifices made by our military members and their families are the building blocks for the paths that we now walk. Providing services to this select group of citizens is both an honour and a privilege.
“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him but because he LOVES what is behind him”.
